2018 Ford F-150: Ram 1500 Can’t Ignore It Anymore

By  |

Even though the Ford F-150 has always been one of the best truck in the market, the Ram 1500 did not have any reason to be afraid of it since it was the one with the powerful diesel engine under the hood but that might change soon as Ford reveal their plans for the 2018 Ford F-150.

According to the reports, the 2018 Ford F-150 will be coming in with a diesel engine option this year. The diesel model will be powered by a 3.0 liter Powerstroke diesel engine. Besides getting the new engine, the F-150 will also be getting the new 10-speed auto transmission from Ford and GM.

It is believed that Ford will be taking what they learn from working on the turbodiesel engine JLR and applying them to the diesel engine that the Ford F-150 will be riding on.

All this upgrade means that the Ford F-150 might have what it takes to beat the Ram 1500. We do not know how much the F-150 will be offering but it will need to have at least 254hp and 443lb ft of torque if it plans to take down Ram and their 1500 model.

The current Ford F-150 will be powered by a 3.5 liter 6 engine that will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission. There is also a 2.7-liter turbo V6 engine as well as a 5.0 liter V8 engine option.
