2018 Ford F-150 Diesel To Snatch Crown From Ram?

By  |

The Ford F-150 is already a very intimidating competitor but things have gotten serious now as Ford decides to fit it with a diesel engine.

The 2018 Ford F-150 Diesel model will be fitted with a 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine that will be offering about 250hp and 440lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

According to Ford, they are hoping that the Ford F-150 Diesel model will be able to offer 30mpg on the highway in terms of EPA. With a 10 speed automatic transmission and the auto stop/start features, they should be able to do it.

The diesel engine would be offered on the Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum trims model. With the diesel engine in place, the Ford F-150 Diesel will able to compete with the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel model. The 2019 Ford F-150 diesel order books will be open in January next year.
