2018 BMW M5 Will Be A Fuel Guzzler

By  |

Although models like the BMW M5 have come a long way when it comes to fuel efficiency, it is still far from being a fuel-efficient model and the 2018 model is no exception which is why it is so important that the fuel gauge actually shows the right levels so that the drivers don’t get caught in unexpected situation.

This was the reason why NHTSA issued a recall for the 2018 BMW M5 after it was discovered that the fuel gauge of the BMW M5 might show a higher level of fuel than what is actually in the tank as the sensor would sometimes get stuck against the fuel line.

The fix would be to secure the in-tank fuel line to keep it from interfering with the sensor. The current BMW M5 comes fitted with a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers about 591hp and 553lb ft of torque with its right speed automatic transmission.

A total of 1645 units of the BMW M5 will be affected by the recall which will be starting on the 10th of September.
