2018 BMW i3: Efficiency Is Only Part Of The Story

By  |

In the past, the electric vehicle has always been about efficiency but that is not always the case now. We have seen Tesla go down the sporty route and it looks like BMW is looking to do the same as well.

After all the waiting, BMW finally took the covers off the BMW i3. The 2018 model will come with a few exterior upgrades including a redesigned front and rear bumper along with the lights. Customers will also get two new color options to choose from now, Melbourne Red Metallic and Imperial Blue Metallic.

While all of that sounds very interesting, the one that got people’s attention was the arrival of the i3s model, the sportier version of the 2018 BMW i3 model. The sport model will be offering 184hp and 199lb ft of torque, 14hp and 15lb ft of torque more than the standard model.

With all the upgrades and new Sport driving mode, the BMW i3s model will only need 6.8seconds to go from 0-60mph. Both models will be making their debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show happening next month.
