2017 Subaru Impreza: AWD System Holding It Back

By  |

Overall, the Subaru Impreza is a pretty solid vehicle to drive in but it does have its flaw. Unlike most of the other cars out there, Subaru seems to think that AWD is the right match for their Impreza and that might be the thing that is holding the vehicle back.

While there are some benefits to having an AWD model, the downside is the drivetrain loss and too many of the fans, that is a huge turn-off. With the AWD, the vehicle will not be quick so don’t expect to have fun behind the wheels.

On the bright side, the Subaru Impreza is pretty spacious so if you are looking for a people hauler that is reliable and stable, the Subaru Impreza would be the one for you.

Of course, if you are looking to take the car outdoor, the AWD would be a must here but if not, is the Subaru Impreza really worth considering especially if you get the Crosstrek or the Outback models.

The current Subaru Impreza will be offering about 152hp with its 2.0 liter four cylinder engine under the hood. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

The Impreza will return about 25mpg in the city and 34mpg on the highway. It will also need 8.6 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of 122mph. The new Impreza will come with a long list of features including the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Those looking for some extra safety features can opt to have the EyeSight package. The optional package will come with features like adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking.
