The Toyota Prius was thought to offer up good fuel economy figures and it still does. However, the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq beats it. The Prius offers up 50mpg on the highway, 54mpg city driving and a combination of 52mpg.

The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq gives out 54mpg when on the highway driving, 55mpg in the city and 55mpg combined. When it is out on the highway it beats the Toyota Prius hands down.

The plug-in version of the Hyundai Ioniq offers up 59mpg highway driving, 57mpg driving around the city and 58mpg combined. It runs 31 miles just on electricity. The range for the electric is 124 miles and MPGe of 122 when on the highway, 150 city driving and 136 combined. But its not very impressive as it offers up 20 plus miles. We have heard that the carmaker is working on a vehicle offering up 200 plus miles in 2018.

So if you want more for your money when driving you might want to go for the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq instead of the Toyota Prius.
