2017 Honda Ridgeline: Mercedes May Still Be A Real Threat

By  |

We know that the Ford Ranger isn’t going to be making its way out before 2018 at the earliest and this gives Honda some leeway as it means there is time for the 2017 Honda Ridgeline to gain sales in the mid-size pickup market in the US.

It had been thought that it would be coming to the market in the US, however the Mercedes GLT, based on the Nissan Navara, is going to arrive on every market apart from North America.

If Mercedes should decide that the truck is going to compete in the US then it would be a threat to the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. The automaker hasn’t actually given confirmation that they have ruled out its arrival in the US yet.

Reports have suggested that the possibility of the Mercedes GLT being sold in the US is low, however nothing has been made concrete yet.

The mid-size pickup market is continuing to grow and there is plenty of demand for it, the temptation may be too much as we could see it arrive and it would be a premium rival for the 2017 Honda Ridgeline.
