2017 Honda CR-V Is Giving Back To The Honda Civic

By  |

One of the biggest things to come from Honda is the new Civic as it has become the best seller from the brand and it could take over from the Toyota Camry in sales in the US. Along with this the 2017 Honda CR-V is making the move to the 5th gen in 2018 and it shares some of the platform of the Civic.

It is going to have a sportier look to it, which should take its inspiration from the Civic and it is going to offer the 1.5 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine.

Thanks to the 2017 Honda CR-V, production of the CR-V is going to be moved to Indiana from Mexico, but then this causes issues for the Civic, due to the plant only having a capacity of 250,000 units each year.

Now Honda is shelling out $52 million so that the plant can be refurbished and this should help them with the production capacity. It means another 100 jobs are being added to the facility, while at the same time ensuring that there is space for production of both the Civic and the CR-V.
