2017 Audi A5, Q5 & More Affected In Latest Recall

Audi has issued a recall for some of their models after it was discovered that their engine’s coolant pump could cause a fire.

According to the reports, the 2.0-liter Turbo FSI engine that some of the Audi models are powered by could be a fire risk if the coolant pump is blacked with debris from the coolant system.

Models that will be affected by the recalls are the 2013-2017 Audi A5 and Q5, the Audi A4 and Allroad from 2013 to 2016 as well as the Audi A6 from 2012 to 2015. No injuries have been reported so far.

The recall will affect a total of 342,000 units of Audi models here in the US. Those affected will get their pump replace for free although Audi has not yet announced when they repairs will start.

This issue is not new as Audi did recall the same vehicles earlier last year for the same issue but at that time, the solution was to update the software but it looks like that is not enough to solve the issue.
