2016 Tesla Model X Buyers Left Red-Faced

By  |

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year festivities, there’s a new Tesla Model X “Signature Red” limited edition variant that would go along well to keep you in the mood. Especially if you need all things red for the New Year.

It’s only headed to the Chinese market for the moment though, and it’s priced at a whopping 1.48 million yuan (about $225k). Moreover, the standard 90D variant is also available for booking now, priced from 961k yuan to 1.171 million yuan. You’ll do the conversion.

More importantly, this certainly pushes the Model X’s global availability ahead of Europe, making it the first non-North American market to be able to configure and put a booking on the car. There’s also been claims suggesting that Tesla just wants to somehow show off the Model X’s high-efficiency particulate air filter – something that would be of use for China’s smog-ridden atmosphere.

Well, whatever it is, there’s no denying that the red looks absolutely sexy on the Tesla Model X and we can’t wait to see it rolling out to other parts of the globe too.
