2016 Honda CR-V Glides Ahead Of Escape and RAV4

The best US crossover in sales in July is the Honda CR-V as it sold 36, 017 units. With these sales it also saw the vehicle being the fourth best-seller in all of the market, coming in behind the Ford F-Series, Chevy Silverado and the Dodge RAM.

When it comes down to YTD sales it does in behind the Toyota RAV4 which sold 195, 092 units and 31, 871 in July.

The margin is only a small one though and should the Honda CR-V beat the RAV4 in August in sales then it is going to take the leading sales position in crossovers in the US.

The sales figures of the Honda CR-V improved last month by around 13.3% over the same period the year before. The YTD sales figures were up by only 0.1% but at least it was a rise. The sales of the Ford Escape put the vehicle in second place and it came in front of the Honda, which fell by 10.2%.

Two more vehicles from Honda came in ahead of the Honda CR-V for the majority of the previous months. These were the Honda Civic and the Honda Accord, which sold 32, 952 units and 31, 946 units in July. The Honda Civic does keep the title of the leader in the entire lineup of Honda as it has managed to accumulate 222, 792 sales this year so far.
