The 2016 Ford Ranger may just be the vehicle that can kill off the Nissan, Mitsubishi and the Toyota trucks.

In Australia the 2016 Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi Triton have been launched but they may end up dying off thanks to the Ford Ranger. This vehicle is said to be coming our way in Q3 and just weeks before the arrival of the Hilux, in October.

The Toyota Hilux engine is going to be the 2.8 litre four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine and this is going to offer six speed automatic gearing. The 3.2 litre engine is the five cylinder and this is going to be the six speed manual or automatic gearing and the 2.3 litre twin turbocharged which is the seven speed automatic along with the six speed manual gears.

The Toyota will be available in the 2.4 litre turbodiesel engine and this is going to offer 400Nm or it will be 343Nm for the vehicle with five speed gears.

Ford and Nissan is going to offer the Navara in the 2.3 litre along with the 2.2 litre Ford Ranger. There should also be a 2.7 litre petrol version and a 4 litre petrol. The Ranger is offered in the 2.5 litre and the Navara is going to be available in the 2.5 litre petrol engine.

The Toyota Hilux is able to tow a maximum of 1000kg and this is along the same as the Ford Ranger and the Navara, the Triton can tow up to as much as 3100kg.

We have no idea as to whether the Ford Ranger is going to be beat the Mitsubishi, Toyota and Nissan trucks.
