The 2016 Ford Ranger may be the death of trucks from Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

The Mitsubishi Triton and 2016 Toyota Hilux have already made their way out in Australia but the arrival of the 2016 Ford Ranger may mean they meet an early death. The vehicle is making its way out in Q3 of 2016 and it should come to the roads only weeks before the new Hilux comes out.

The Toyota Hilux offers the 2.8 litre four cylinder turbocharged engine which is the diesel and it comes with six speed automatic. You can also get the 3.2 litre with five cylinders and this is available in the automatic or six speed manual. The Triton has the 2.4 litre with 4 cylinders and you can get the five speed auto or six speed manual gears. There is also a six speed manual and twin turbocharged 7 speed 2.3 litre engine.

You can get the Toyota Hilux in the 2.4 litre turbodiesel to and it comes with five speed and manual gearing and gives out 400Nm.

The Nissan Navara is available with the 2.3 litre engine and the Ford Ranger has the 2.2 litre. We are expecting to see a 2.7 litre petrol and 4 litre petrol engine.

You can tow up to 1000kg with the Toyota Hilux, the same with the Ford Ranger, while the Navara and Triton can tow up to 3100kg.

For the time being we will have to wait to see if the Ford Ranger is going to have what it takes to beat the trucks from Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota, but what do you think?
