2016 Chevrolet Camaro Sales Plummet With Mustang

Ford spread their wings with the Ford Mustang as they launched the vehicle around the globe and while it was a move that was bold, it has paid off for them.

The move was a bold one due to the fact that we don’t see many muscle cars outside of the US. However the Ford Mustang stole the hearts of people globally too.

This is something that neither Dodge nor Chevrolet has managed to do and as such they have seen sales of their vehicles that have plummeted, including the Chevrolet Camaro. In fact the Camaro has had the biggest decline for sales in the US.

In June of this year the Chevrolet Camaro managed to sell just 4, 969 vehicles, which means a drop in sales of 42.3% against the same period of time last year. The YTD sales have been 36, 834 and this means a sales decline of 13.5% when compared to the same period the year before.

The Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang have seen decreased sales year over year. The Mustang saw a drop of 16.6% in June in comparison to the same in 2015, while the YTD performance dropped by 7.8% in comparison to the first half of 2015.

When it comes to the Challenger the year over year performance saw a drop of 20% and the half yearly numbers were 6% lower than that of the corresponding period during 2015. There is some good news for the Chevrolet Camaro in that they have come in second in the three pony race, instead of last.
