2015’s Best Phone Award Goes To… Galaxy S6, Nexus 6P Or iPhone 6S?

Lots of phones were released last year and it was surely a tough battle for all, especially for the biggest brands. The biggest and most talked-about phones of last year were the Samsung Galaxy S6, Nexus 6P and none other than the Apple iPhone 6S. But, which one of these was the cherry on top?

If you haven’t guessed it already, we’ll be straightforward. The best phone of 2015 belongs to Google’s Nexus 6P, and we’ll get down to all the deets to justify our statement. Before that, let’s just come into an agreement for the Nexus 6P being the Nexus like you’ve literally never seen before, because it’s just better. And it’s dubbed to be the Nexus that finally delivers on the potential of the Nexus range.

In terms of design, this might strike as a surprise to some because the Nexus 6P is actually pretty luxurious (for once). It’s a phone that’s literally on par with designs of better-known smartphones like the iPhone and Samsung ones, and we’ve got to give props to Nexus for that. Having a sleek aluminium body, and the smart design of incorporating the fingerprint sensor on the back helps to ensure there’s a grip since every time you want to unlock the phone, you’ll have to pick it up.

And we’ve got to talk about the 2K AMOLED display panel, that’s just big and beautiful, sporting 5.7-inches with accurate colours, deep blacks and wide-viewing angles. The usage of the Gorilla Glass 4 and the amazing oleophobic finish might just be one of the best you’ve ever seen; fingerprints could never be resisted so well. Though it might come with all the pros, it’s also not without its downsides.

The Nexus 6P isn’t perfect like every other smartphone. Though it’s slim and compact, it’s unusually tall and the top and bottom bezels might just be too wide for your liking. And there’s no denying that the Samsung Galaxy’s premium family (S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5) has better brightness when compared to the Nexus 6P.

There you have it; our insight on what we think is the best phone of 2015. Let us know if you think the award shouldn’t be given to the Google Nexus 6P.
