The Samsung Galaxy S3 along with the S4 has both been great handsets and many people still have them. A locked device cannot be moved to a carrier of your choice, unless you unlock it first. Luckily thanks to a leaked code that has been going around you can now unlock your device.
The steps below will help you to break your Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 free of its carrier.
First you should put a brand new SIM card from your choice of carrier into the handset and then restart it.
You should then go to the dial pad and put in *#197328640#.
You can then follow the steps below to unlock your device.
 UMTS >  Debug Screen >  Phone Control >  Network Lock > Options  Perso SHA256 OFF.
You should now just wait for about 30 seconds and you can head back to the menu and you should see network lock on the display. Choose  NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ and tada…..your handset should now be unlocked.
Those who own other Samsung handsets including the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and 3 have said that this code works with their handsets too.

If you own the Samsung Galaxy Note you may wish to keep checking your notifications as you should be receiving an OTA update message, if you haven’t already done so regarding an update.
Starting from 4th February the Samsung Galaxy Note is getting updated to Android 4.0.4 and the baseband version will be T879UVMA1. This update will be sent OTA and through KIES and it offers the user an improved experience along with enhancements to security.
T-Mobile has said that the updates will come out for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note between yesterday and up to 8th February. So have you got the update yet or are you waiting for it?

Recently we heard that the first version of the Samsung Galaxy Note would be getting the update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Well today the folks over at Product-Reviews report that the update has started rolling out, which is something that many readers will be very happy to learn.

The update includes their Premium Suite apps pack, which comes with the S Planner feature for handwriting, along with improvements for S Note. Owners of the original Samsung Galaxy Note will love the 4.1.2 update; however some will have to be more patient than others.
We now know, thanks to Android Geeks, that the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 is being rolled out as users in Poland have said that the update is now popping up. They pointed out that the update was available through Kies for the Samsung Galaxy Note. The update is making its way to all carriers and regions, however which areas will get it first is not known. It could be rolled out to more than one country at the same time and news that Poland has received it is great for other owners waiting to get their hands on it given that we saw Poland get the Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update first as well.
While Samsung usually take their time in getting updates out, they could have made a change for the better in regards to the Jelly Bean update, as they have been rolling it out in record time for the Samsung Galaxy S3, and now its predecessor appears to be right around the corner. Continue reading
