WhatsApp is a very popular choice among communication apps and it has been for many years. However from next year the developer revealed that the app isn’t going to support older smartphones.

The developer said that any iPhone that is running iOS 6 or lower isn’t going to be able to use the WhatsApp from next year. It isn’t just the iOS devices that are on the list to be discontinued either as Android phones are not getting away with anything.

Anyone using Android 2.2 and below will not be getting support from WhatsApp starting from next year. Windows users with Version 7 and lower are also not going to be supported.

Some of the older handsets such as the Nokia S40 and S60 along with Blackberry handsets are not going to support WhatsApp from June 30 of next year.
