Electric vehicles of today often offer up a range of 300 or more and the Toyota Prius isn’t going to be able to keep up. So soon we may be waving farewell to the vehicle as it isn’t going to be able to keep up.

Toyota realise that the Toyota Prius may be in danger and they have launched an in-house company to focus on making electric vehicles for the future. Toyota has been all about fuel cell technology and hybrid vehicles, however they revealed that by 2020 we should see an all-electric vehicle.

The in-house company is made from staff from the four Toyota companies and they are going to be working on management structure and put all their energy into bringing out the Toyota EV. When this happens we will be waving goodbye to the Toyota Prius.

The Toyota development and research team will offer up an electric vehicle that should be able to compete with the 300km range of the competition. Toyota wants to launch an electric vehicle by 2020 but they will still concentrate on fuel cell vehicles at the same time.

So do you think that we will be saying goodbye to the Toyota Prius when the company offers up an all-electric vehicle?
