Volvo XC90 Shows BMW X5 And Audi Q7 How Things Should Be Done

By  |

The Volvo XC90 has been giving the BMW X5 and the Audi Q7 lessons how things really should be done. Of course the Volvo is entitled to do this as it has been able to revive Volvo virtually all by itself.

It was just four years back when Geely invested the huge sum of $11 billion into Volvo and this did get eyebrows to raise. Some of the money was used for the development of a new engine and the rest was used on the SPA platform. Now it is looking as though the investment has really been worth it.

The Volvo XC90 has been testament to the fact along with the S90 and sales of Volvo vehicles have been increasing year after year. This has been mainly due to the XC90. Sales of it have increased by 259% over in the US.

Right now the Volvo XC90 is only eighteen months old but in another four years it is going to become the oldest in the line-up of Volvo. The Volvo boss spoke up recently and said that the South Carolina plant is going to produce around 100,000 vehicles by 2018. He also spoke up about autonomous driving and the Uber and Volvo partnership.

The Volvo XC90 has been seen in Pittsburgh and this was the autonomous version. It was only three years ago when Volvo said that they wanted to sell 800,000 vehicles per year worldwide and up to now they have managed to sell 425,000. Volvo does think that they are still on target and the XC90 has helped.
