Volvo XC90 Gives A Heads Up To The BMW X5 And Audi Q7

The Volvo XC90 has given the BMW X5 and the Audi Q7 a heads up and there is no more qualified vehicle than the XC90 as after all Volvo has managed to revive the brand on its own.

Geely invested $11 billion four years back and it did raise some eyebrows it seems that it has paid off. Some of the money was put towards the development of a new engine and some towards the SPA platform.

The Volvo XC90 and the S90 are both superb vehicles and in fact in the US the sales have increased year after year. This has mainly been due to the XC90 with sales having increased by 259%.

The Volvo XC90 is now 18 months of age but in another four years it is going to be the oldest vehicle in the line-up of Volvo and this is down to the SPA. The Volvo boss spoke up recently and said that by 2018 the South Carolina plant is going to be able to send out 100,000 vehicles each year. At the same time he also talked about autonomous driving along with the partnership between Uber and Volvo. We have seen the autonomous version of the Volvo XC90 out on the roads in research.

Volvo said just three years ago that they wanted to become the top tier brand name and said that they wanted to be able to sell about 800,000 vehicles each year around the world. Up to this point they have sold 425,000 vehicles and so have doubled sales in four years. Volvo still believes that the target is reachable.
