The US chief of Volvo has said that the 2019 Volvo electric vehicle is going to have a price tag similar to the Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model 3. He said it would come in with a price in the region of $35,000 to $40,000 and that it would offer up a range of 250 miles.
This means that the new model is going to come in at the lower end of the pricing of Volvo and it would be competing with the likes of the Tesla Model 3, when it arrives, and the Chevrolet Bolt. Both of which are in the same price bracket and which offers a range of 250 miles.
Volvo haven’t discussed any more details about the new model but it is thought that it might be a sedan and not a compact or SUV. Volvo realises the importance of range and they know that people will not pay out for an electric vehicle unless it offers up a good range.
Volvo hopes to make electric vehicles more accessible and they are going to be bringing them to a brand that is well-known and which has a strong link to premium cars. This is going to be a big deal if they want to take on Tesla, who at the moment is doing well in Sweden, Volvos home country.
