Tesla has been offering their electric powered models for years now and their aim is to shift over 1 million EVs per year by 2020. Although Volkswagen is a little late to the EV party, they are confident that they can beat Tesla.
According to Herbert Diess, their global scale and manufacturing expertise will help them make up for lost ground. He added that he thinks that Volkswagen will be able to stop Tesla as they have things and abilities that Tesla does not have.
Looking at the numbers right now, it won’t surprise us that Volkswagen would feel so confident as they are already producing more cars than Tesla whole 2016 in just two days.
The first Volkswagen I.D. brand model to hit the market will be the hatchback model called the Neo. Volkswagen added that they have already signed off the final design for the vehicle and that it will be offering about 370miles of range in a single charge.
