Volkswagen Arteon Could Get What Phaeton Did Not Get

By  |

Despite all the speculations, the Volkswagen Phaeton never got a shooting brake version but new reports are suggesting that the Volkswagen Arteon could be getting one soon.

According to AutoExpress, Dr. Elmar-Marius Licharz, Volkswagen’s executive told them that the Arteon shooting brake was underwater but they have not finalized anything yet. Despite that, AutoExpress did say that the production of the shooting brake model has been confirmed.

There were also talks about the Volkswagen Arteon possibly coming with a 3.6 liter V6 engine, the same engine that Volkswagen is using on the Volkswagen Atlas SUV right now. The only engine option that the Arteon has right now is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine so having the V6 engine might make the vehicle more exciting.

No word on whether Volkswagen plans to offer it in other regions besides Europe as vehicles like this don’t often make their way to the US.
