Benchmarks have revealed a new handset from Samsung with the name of SCH-I545 and this has led to speculation that this is the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The reason behind this is that the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 came with the name of the SCH-I535. Samsung do usually follow on with number schemes when they reveal new handsets.
Of course it could be another Samsung handset, since there have been other devices from the company on Big Red which have numbers that are similar. This was seen with the Galaxy Nexus (SCH-I515), Charge (SCH-I510), Note 2 (SCH-I605) and Stratosphere 2 (SCH-415), but this does seem not to be likely. But what else might Samsung reveal other than their Galaxy handset? It wouldn’t make much sense for them to reveal any other phone on Verizon.
The specs are said to reveal that the handset will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which has been clocked at 1.9GHz, a 320GPU Adreno, has Android 4.2 and a screen of FHD with 1080p display. Verizon has not been mentioned specifically, however all of the Samsung handsets with the carrier have started with the SCH initials, followed on by the model number. We also believe that the device will have 4G LTE.
It does seem to be odd that the handset would not have the Exynos processor from Samsung, however the Qualcomm might be the best chip that is available right now.
There were rumours that the handset would have a display of FHD Super AMOLED at 4.99 inches.
Bear in mind that the benchmark doesn’t mean that we will see the launch of the device straight away. It could be that the handset is being tested and the launch of it could happen during the spring.
