Owners of the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 have been very frustrated over the lack of a Jelly Bean update for their handsets. For many weeks now there has been a rumour that the OS would be coming to the handset.
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Update VRBLK1 arrives, looks final
However today there is news that the build VRBLK1 has been leaked and this could very well be the final Jelly Bean build for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 suggests Product-Reviews. This means that owners of the handset may see the official release come out very soon.
Just one week ago we thought that the Jelly Bean update was almost ready and that it would be coming out on more devices in December. Some owners of the S3 have managed to get their hands on the update in some regions. This news came after there was leaked ROM for the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Odex or Deodex, which everyone believed could be the final build.
Droid-life.com said that they had received a tip that the official rollout for Jelly Bean for the S3 would be on 16th November. However, this day came and then passed, and still no word of the update. However the build for version 4.1.1 showed up on 15th November and this is available at XDA Developers.
Of course you do have to be careful when using leaked ROMs as these are not official and there are some things that could go wrong. Therefore you might want to wait for the official version to roll out.
