Verizon and AT&T customers are still waiting for Jelly Bean to hit their Samsung Galaxy S3. Earlier this week, Verizon customers got the Android 4.1 update from XDA developers, but there’s no word on the official update rollout. Sprint and T-Mobile, the third and fourth largest US carriers, have updated their Samsung Galaxy S3 already.
AT&T and Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update holdup
If you’re on T-Mobile, you can get Jelly Bean either OTA or through Kies. Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 owners have had Jelly Bean for a while now, so customers of AT&T and Verizon are fuming that they’ll be the last to get the update.
There was a rumour that the Verizon update would be out on November 16, but obviously this wasn’t the case. The leaked Verizon update is called VRBLK1, and some reckon it’s the final version, even though there’s no word about it being official.
You need to be careful when thinking about leaked ROMs, so if you’re not sure about what to do, just wait a bit longer for the Verizon update to roll out via the normal means, as you might be better to be safe than sorry.
Over at AT&T, the company said it’d update sometime in November, but it doesn’t have a great track record for Android updates, so it may get into December yet! More than 30 countries have the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 so far, from lots of different carriers.
