The update to Jelly Bean 4.2 is supposed to be imminent for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This may mean that the update might beat the Verizon version to rollout just as we saw with the Sprint and Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3.
Sprint & Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 update
Details of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Baseband update which is called GA02 have popped up courtesy of Benjamin Kerensa. The update is the DMDA driver for Android 4.2.
It is said that the update is in the final testing stage and that it should be rolled out to users of the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4.2 in February. GottaBeMobile received an email which said that this is narrowed down to the first week of February.
This news comes around just one day after we told you about the update to the Sprint Galaxy Nexus to Jelly Bean 4.2 by way of a leaked ROM. The device is flash friendly, however many owners may want to hang on as the official release is just weeks away.
While Verizon haven’t given details about the update, the progress seen with Sprint is expected as despite both being CDMA, Verizon never fails to disappoint with its embarrassingly slow update rollouts.
The Sprint and Verizon versions of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus have been left out of the fun of the Jelly Bean update, however the GSM version got the update to Jelly Bean 4.2 in 2012 already.
