Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Update: Good News For Once

By  |

The Verizon support page kept saying that the Android 4.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was coming towards the end of February. This should have meant that it was on its way. However this message was taken down within 24 hours of it being put up.

The WAYBACK Machine showed us the cached page showing that it was live on 17th February but not on 8th. So somewhere between the 8th and 17th February it was online. One month later and no changed have been made and the update hasn’t come out. Sprint however did update theirs.

Some interesting things have happened in between. The Asus Transformer Pad 300 received the update to Jelly Bean. There has also been a leak of Jelly Bean 4.2 for the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and it is said that it is in the hands of testers, so it must be coming close.

Well today there is good news as the ‘Coming Soon’ notice for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 update has come back and right now it hasn’t been taken down. So it could be on its way and last month’s fiasco must have been a mistake… hopefully.
