Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.2 Update : Verizon May Be Last, Again

By  |

Verizon really disappointed folks coming in last here in the US among the top 4 major carriers with its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 drivers appear, Verizon still missing

In fact, the number one carrier in the US is also lagging behind on its Samsung Galaxy Nexus updates as the smartphone still isn’t on Android 4.2. Now it looks like Verizon may be beaten once again if the recently leaked Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.2 update has anything to say about it.

Benjamin Kerensa stumbled upon details of the Galaxy Nexus Baseband update called GA02 for Sprint. According to him, this baseband update is the CMDA driver for Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Upon checking the files it appears to be a final build and predictions now put the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update rollout to happen inside of the first week of February.

Now I can’t say that I am surprised at the possible fact Verizon will be last to Android 4.2 with its Samsung Galaxy Nexus. But I really wish it doesn’t happen.
