If you are waiting for the release of the Motorola Droid Razr HD or the Razr Maxx HD, you could have to wait a while longer as it seems they may be delayed thanks to an issue with the antenna.
Verizon Motorola DROID RAZR HD & MAXX release date may get pushed back
Droid-Life reports that the issue is said to be down to the antenna’s size and the location, with the antenna having contact with the device’s edges. If the rumor turns out to be true then we might not see any sign of the handsets before Thanksgiving.
Also more than one source has said that Verizon has included both the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD on the MAP list. This is the minimum advertised price of the handsets. The launch date is showing as 18th October, with a price of $199 for the Razr HD and the Razr Maxx having a price tag of $299. Devices in the past have been posted on the list and then they have not been launched until many weeks later. Therefore this does not mean that they will be available by the 18th.
Rumors of a delay do not come as a big surprise. The Motorola RAZR HD has already been launched in Brazil and so there shouldn’t have been a reason why the Verizon model didn’t come together unless there was really an antenna related problem such as the one mentioned aboe. However you would think that problems with antennas would have been found out long before now, if this is indeed the case. It cannot be easy to move an antenna and if this is true, we could be left waiting a long time for the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD.
