Verizon have given their approval for the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Motorola DROID 4 reports DroidLife. Last week they announced a soak test but as yet nothing has been said about whether it did roll out to any of those who asked to take part in the test. What is clear is that if they have approved the update then it should start to appear on handsets within just a matter of a week or so points out the blog.

There are numerous benefits to come with Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0. The update is said to bring about improvements in Gallery performance, support for global roaming, less restarts and force closes, and Verizon’s Remote Diagnostics Tool.
In a recent update posted on DL, the soak test was said to be arriving today on handsets. This means that providing everything goes according to plan the update should be just days away from public release. The build number of the update is 6.16.217 and the version is 4.0.4. The update is 364MB.
