Verizon have set a vacation ban for between 21st and 30th Sept which could be an indication that the iPhone 5 will be released in stores at some point during this time.
Verizon iPhone 5 release date hinted by vacation blackout period
So why does Verizon have to set a vacation ban? Well if the release of iPhones of the past is any indication they will want all hands on deck. The release of the new iPhone 5 is sure to bring about a lot of buzz as people will want to be among the first to get their hands on the new handset. We’ve seen AT&T do this for years and even Verizon following suits in the past two years with the iPhone 4 and 4S. And if you’re wondering, no Verizon and AT&T have never been found to do vacation blockouts for any non-Apple devices to date.
Apple of course have not come out and said that the iPhone 5 will be released in September or even that such a device exists. However Apple traditionally launches a new handset each year and the last was released in October of 2011, it makes sense that a newer model will be released sometime this fall.
It has been rumored that Apple will unveil their latest iPhone 5 at an even that is scheduled for 12th September and it is also said that pre-orders will be taken very soon after that. Stores could actually have the phone on 21st September.
Last year the iPhone 4S was revealed on 4th October and pre-orders were taken on the 7th October, with the handset being available in stores by 14th October, just one week later.
Everyone has been debating about what the iPhone 5 might look like. Some say that a larger screen is on the cards along with a slimmer design and it has also been said that the phone will have a new dock connector and headphone jack.
If you are waiting for the launch of the iPhone 5 you may not have much longer to hang on for.
