There have been many rumours going around about the HTC DLX making its way to Verizon. While the recently announced HTC J Butterfly has been identified as a likely variant of the DLX, we were yet to see a picture of the Verizon variant. That is until now.
Verizon HTC DLX (J Butterfly) caught on camera
Now there are photos surfacing on the net that remind us that the handset may still be on its way to Big Red. The 5 inch 1080p handset pictured below is in black with a red rim, has the prominent Verizon branding, and hence convinces us that the handset is US bound.
What might be interesting is the Jelly Bean profile screen, as it suggests that the US may get the device with the quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with 2GB of RAM and the 8 megapixel camera seen on the J Butterfly. It could be that Verizon are not pulling the same stunt as they did with the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which means we won’t see the hardware being toned down.
The question on everyone’s lips now is how soon Verizon might commit to launching the device. KDDIs schedule has been to ship at the beginning of December; however there is nothing to say that Verizon will follow this. Many people have been wondering about the name of the handset, the DLX, however it seems that this is short for Deluxe, which is the codename for the international variant.
