HTC may be one of the latest to enter into the 5 inch smartphone market. Photos of an HTC device with a display of 5 inches have been posted online over the weekend and rumour has it that the handset could be seen on Verizon in time for Thanksgiving reports LA Times.
Verizon HTC Deluxe (J Butterfly) release date pegged for around Thanksgiving
The device has the name of the HTC DLX, which stands for deluxe, and it comes with a full HD 1080p screen. They got the photos from a source that wants to remain anonymous and basically what we are looking at is the US version of the recently announced HTC J Butterfly.
It is thought that the device will come with an 8 megapixel camera on the back and it should have Jelly Bean pre-installed just like the HTC J Butterfly. The folks over at Android Central add that the device comes with the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor of 1.5GHz. They also say that it will have 2GB of RAM and 16GB or internal storage.
The handset comes with three physical buttons, which are used for home, back and recent. It has also been suggested that the handset will continue on with the partnership of HTC with Beats by Dre.
Should the device be released it will have to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, with its display of 5.5 inches, that is to be launched with Sprint later in the week.
