Verizon Bets On DROID DNA, Scorns Galaxy Note 2

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has arrived in the US, and on Verizon and AT&T pre-orders were being taken around the same time. However last month it seems that the Verizon version of the Galaxy Note 2 was three weeks behind the launch of AT&T.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs HTC DROID DNA: Verizon playing favorites

A red circle appeared around the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 stating that the device would be shipped on 27th November. Of course those on Verizon waiting for the handset felt disappointed as they have seen other carriers with the device for some weeks.

The folks over at Product-Reviews point out that is very clear that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is not the focal point of Verizon and their marketing at the moment. If you head over to the website you have to search for the device, instead of it being in plain view. On the contrary, the HTC Droid DNA is being heavily promoted and so is the iPhone 5, the Lumia, HTC Rezound and the Droid Razr HD. The Note 2 however has been pushed to one side.

Additionally it isn’t subsidized as deeply as its rivals. The price for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is at $300 with a contract of two years; however you can get the HTC Droid DNA and the Motorola DROID Razr HD for just under $200.

The bottom line is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should ship on the 27th November, however in store this may be a couple of days later. Additionally, the Verizon was criticized for making the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 look ugly by tattooing its logo right on the home button – a first for any Verizon Android handset yet.
