Verizon DROID DNA 1080p Phone: Official Press Photos Outed

By  |

The latest device from HTC has gone through the FCC this week and this was followed up by HTC and Verizon revealing a joint event which will be held in NY next week. Today we have seen what happens to be one of the best photos of the HTC Droid DNA device yet, courtesy of @evleaks. The HTC DROID DNA of course is none other than Verizon’s variant of the recently announced 1080p phone that goes by the name of HTC J Butterfly in Japan.

However nothing new has accompanied the device press shots, apart from the fact that the 5 inch device is set to be awesome. The HTC Droid DNA will have a display of 5 inches and it will be a 1080p display offering 440ppi. It will have Jelly Bean 4.1 and run on the S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. The device will have 16GB of storage and a 2500mAh battery and it will run on the 4G LTE speeds of Verizon.

According to the FCC there are global GSM radios in the handset, but other than this, details are rather sketchy. The device looks impressive and it will be in competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Anyone who has eagle eyes might have noticed that the wallpaper on the device in the photo is very similar to the image that was used on the invitations that were sent out to the press. This is a dead giveaway as to what we can expect to come out of the press event.

Rumours surrounding the device said that it would be available on Verizon by 6th December and that it would have a price tag of between $199 and $249. Rumours of course are generally not much to go on, however on the press photo is the date 7th December, so this could mean that this would be the date for launch.

We’re not sure what we would do without Dwayne, especially on those days when we have a great scoop and our servers can’t handle the influx of traffic.
