Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Update: VZW Quietly Amends Support Page

By  |

By the end of February on the Verizon support page it said that the update to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be coming. This gave the impression that the device would be on its way soon. The message was taken down from the website within 24 hours of it being posted.

WAYBACK Machine say that it wasn’t on the support page on the 8th February but it showed up one month later in a cached version which showed that it was indeed live on 17th February.

So between the 8th and the 17th of February Verizon said that the update to Android 4.2 would be coming for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. However a month later and the update has still not arrived. Sprint however has updated their handset.

Some interesting things happened during this time. The Asus Transformer Pad 300 received the update to Jelly Bean and the leaked version of the update for the Galaxy Nexus leaked online. Word is that the update is now in the testers hands and that it is coming closer to being released.

The Coming Soon notice has been seen again on the Verizon website and it hasn’t been pulled yet.

We’re not sure what we would do without Dwayne, especially on those days when we have a great scoop and our servers can’t handle the influx of traffic.
