Valve has just destroyed any hope of seeing Portal 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 as they revealed that the guy who co-wrote the Portal, Half-Life and Left 4 Dead games, Erik Wolpaw, has left.

Erik Wolpaw is said to have updated the workplace details on his Facebook page and this gives us confirmation that he isn’t working at Valve any longer. Of course this puts games such as Left 4 Dead 3 and Portal 3 at risk of now being left on the shelf, unless there is somebody else willing to take them over.

Wolpaw didn’t say why he left Valve, so this is something of a mystery right now. The news has left many fans devastated as they had hoped to see Left 4 Dead 3 and Portal 3.

So are some of the most iconic gaming titles going to be ended with no new sequels? Fans are waiting for answers that Valve doesn’t want to give.
