There has been good news to come out this week for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2. Samsung have confirmed that the two year old handset will be getting an update to Jelly Bean 4.1.
US Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update woes
Samsung made the announcement that the update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 would start to roll out in February and the first place to get it will be Singapore. When others will get is anyone’s guess.
Of course updates to Android and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are a sensitive matter; this was due to the issue with ICS in the US a year ago, and since then Samsung has been working hard at clearing their name.
After earning themselves a bad name for ICS update delays with the Samsung Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint, Samsung have started to roll out updates faster than before for their latest flagship handset the Samsung Galaxy S3.
As there are a lot of US Samsung Galaxy S2 users that have been to hell and back with updates, Samsung might not want to mess around with Jelly Bean and make US a priority.
