Upcoming Phones (2012): Nexus Babies, Bender, New Galaxy S3 Color

By  |

We’ve had Smartphone October bring Christmas early, with the Droid RAZR Maxx HD, the LG Optimus G, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the iPhone 5 coming out in a blaze of glory. It now looks like the trend will continue through the year, with a new HTC 1,080p phone, a possible Hewlett Packard Android, a Nexus and a new Galaxy S3 color variant.

Upcoming phones (2012): Another Samsung Galaxy S3 color, HTC J Butterfly, LG Nexus 4 & HP Bender

HTC is supposed to be beavering away on a new 1,080p phone with a 5” screen from Verizon. Earlier this week we saw the HTC J Butterfly unveiled in Japan. If you’ve been following the HTC rumor mill from last month then you will notice that it shares a resemblance to the rumored HTC DROID Incredible X 5 which is expected to hit Big Red this year. It boasts a 5-inch 1080p screen with 440ppi, quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and an 8-megapixel camera among other goodies.

Then there’s the HP Bender – all we have on this is a leak showing a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip and Ice Cream Sandwich. HP’s webOS is gone now but HP did have some success with TouchPad when it was on Android, so we might see it again on something codenamed the Bender.

On to the pink Samsung Galaxy S3 now. There has been a leak. Some pics showed up in various forums showing a bright pink Samsung Galaxy S3, so this may well be the seventh color option for this best selling smartphone.

Lastly we have the LG Nexus 4 which despite being a rumor has already had ton of pictures posted online and even an early prototype review. Based on the LG Optimus G hardware, it is expected to be the successor to last year’s favorite the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. If rumors hold true it will be unveiled at the Google event on October 29.

Have a good weekend folks!
