Toyota Prius May Not Survive For Much Longer
Some electric vehicles on the market today offer up a range of 300 miles and this is something that the Toyota Prius has to compete with, but cant. Due to this the Prius might not survive on the market for much longer.
Toyota knows that the Toyota Prius cannot compete with the electric vehicles on the market and they have set up an in-house company. This means that staff can put all their attention on research and developing a new electric vehicle that will be able to compete.
Toyota has focused on fuel cell technology and hybrid vehicles but they realise a new electric vehicle is needed and it is going to have to offer a range of 300 miles. Toyota isn’t giving up on eco-cars and bear in mind that the Toyota Mirai has been called the ultimate in eco-cars.
Toyota said they wanted to launch an electric vehicle by 2020 in Japan and so when this happens there might not be any room left in the market for the Toyota Prius.
