Toyota Prius Is Real Competitor To Chevrolet Volt, Not Nissan Leaf

By  |

While the Nissan Leaf has been seen to be one of the pioneers in the industry of green cars, the lack of updates to it have ensured that it is now less popular than it was before and so the real competitor to the Chevrolet Volt is the Toyota Prius.

The latest version of the Nissan Leaf offers over 100 miles range but this hasn’t been enough to make petrol car owners make the swap. This could be one of the main reasons why people are going for the new Chevrolet Volt as opposed to the Nissan Leaf.

Chevrolet revealed that the sales of the Chevrolet Volt have remained consistent and in August figures were on the incline. This made fans of the Volt compare the vehicle to the Nissan Leaf and while the sales figures are better, is isn’t a very accurate measurement.

We don’t actually think that the Nissan Leaf is much of a competitor to the Chevrolet Volt. We think that the challenger is the Toyota Prius. This is due to the fact that the Prius was made as a hybrid vehicle. At the moment Toyota is distributing the new version of the Prius and it is going to be giving the Chevrolet Volt a huge test.
