Toyota Prius Days Are Now Numbered

By  |

Electric vehicles of today are offering up around 300 range in miles and this is something that Toyota and the Toyota Prius are not going to be able to compete against.

Toyota has now set up an in-house venture company and this should give them the push they need to reveal a new electric vehicle. Toyota has been in the lead for fuel cell technology and hybrid vehicles and last week they said that we can expect the Toyota EV by 2020.

The in-house company will have staff that comes from each of the four companies of Toyota and they will be able to concentrate and operate on the management structures, which means they should be able to work faster.

Toyota has a new development and research team that can come up with a new electric vehicle that should be able to offer a range of 300 kilometres. This vehicle should be making its way out in Japan by 2020. Of course they are not giving up on fuel cell vehicles and they said that the Mirai is going to be the ultimate in eco-cars. but they really need to come up with something to replace the Toyota Prius by way of a pure EV.

So when they do start to send out all-electric vehicles, we could be saying goodbye to the Toyota Prius.
