There is good news for those who are waiting for the Apple iPhone 5 to make its arrival to T-Mobile as the CEO of the carrier said that the device will be coming earlier than what was first anticipated.
T-Mobile iPhone 5 release date window hinted by vacation black out
He said that the Apple iPhone 5 could be in T-Mobile stores within the next 3 to 4 months instead of 6 to 9 months. If all goes well you should be able to get hold of the device by the spring.
This year will be the first year that the carrier have been able to offer the device and T-Mobile are about the make another change as they are ending subsidised handsets. This means that if you want the T-Mobile iPhone 5 you will have to find $649 for the 16GB version of the handset.
Currently T-Mobile has more than 1.9 million iPhone users on their network and they are confident that their changes will not have an effect on their sales as the monthly plans will draw in people as they will be cheaper. It is hoped that this will attract around an additional 5% more subscribers than usual.
One of the benefits of the contract-free option is that owners of the handset are not locked into two year contracts and can change their device when they want. Apple launch a new iPhone each year so this should allow you to upgrade quicker if you wish. Aanother thing in their favour is that the iPhone typically has a high resale value.
Just last week TMoNews said that T-Mobile had told employees there was to be a black out of 4 weeks from the last 2 weeks in March to the first 2 weeks in April. In the past a blackout has meant the release of a new iPhone and so it looks like the blackout at T-Mobile will see the release of the Apple iPhone 5 on the carrier by mid-April latest.
