The CEO of T-Mobile has given confirmation that the Apple iPhone 5 will be available with the carrier early this year. However he failed to say when the handset would be available in stores.
T-Mobile iPhone 5 release date in stores tipped for April start
At CES 2013 T-Mobile said that the release of the device with them would be within the next 3 to 4 months. Previously it was thought that this would happen within 6 to 9 months. Now information has come out which could narrow things down even more when it comes to the release date.
According to TMoNews, employees have been told about a black out period of 4 weeks which is to take place in the final two weeks of March and the first two weeks in April. In the past a blackout has meant products from Apple will be coming out, mainly the Apple iPhone. The blackout is put in place as the demand for the device is generally high when it is first launched and hence carriers wish to spend time training their employees on the device first and then have them in hand when stores are open to selling the device. Therefore the first blackout of T-Mobile could mean that the Apple iPhone 5 will arrive within this time frame.
AT&T, along with Verizon have both had black outs for their employees when they launched the Apple iPhone and so it is pretty damming evidence that the same could be about to happen with T-Mobile.
We can assume that the last two week of March will be the time spent on training employees about the T-Mobile iPhone 5, and sales may kick off right after in the start of April. Fingers crossed folks!
