If you’re a T-Mobile customer who’s been hankering after an iPhone 5, you’ll be delighted by comments from T-Mobile’s CEO at CES earlier last month. He’s said that the iPhone will be coming to T-Mobile sooner than planned.
T-Mobile iPhone 5 release date brought forward
He said that the iPhone will be with the company within three to four months, rather than six to nine. This may well mean a summer treat!
There’s a slight sting, though. The iPhone 5 will be out at the same time the carrier discontinues its subsidies.
T-Mobile has just under 2,000,000 iPhone owners subscribed to it, and it’s confident that the end of subsidies won’t affect sales of the iPhone. The carrier reckons that its low monthly tariffs will draw the punters in, and that it’ll increase its numbers of subscribers by around 5 per cent.
T-Mobile won’t be asking customers to agree to two-year tie-ins at $199 but instead will expect the full retail price tag which starts at $649. This is still good news for Apple fans, as Cupertino usually releases a new iPhone every year, and second-hand iPhones always sell well.
