The Apple iPhone 5 is making its way to T-Mobile soon and it won’t be a moment too early for those who have been waiting for it.
While T-Mobile has always wanted to be able to offer customers the iPhone, they haven’t as they didn’t want to have to give in to the subsidy demands of Apple, as other carriers such as Sprint did.
Over in the US one of the best-selling handsets is the Apple iPhone 5 and it is on all of the major carriers, apart from T-Mobile at the moment. Some have said that even when the Apple iPhone 6 comes out, T-Mobile won’t have it as they won’t give in to Apple’s demands. This of course didn’t happen with any of the carriers and as Sprint had to bow down and apply discounts, they are not going to be in profit with the iPhone until 2015.
T-Mobile was left to rely on the likes of the LG Nexus 4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 to make money. People were wondering why the carrier didn’t just give in as they have good coverage and their plans are good too.
Well the good news is that T-Mobile is to get the Apple iPhone 5 and this will happen within 3 to 4 months. T-Mobile’s CEO has said that they are doing away with subsidising handsets though and this means that while you will be able to get the Apple iPhone 5 with T-Mobile but it will cost you more than the $199.
So you should be looking at paying the full sticker tag for a base 16GB T-Mobile iPhone 5 which is $649. The good news though is that T-Mobile will be offering downpayment and installment plans at the same time to ease the burden.
