While we have already received confirmation that the iPhone is coming to T-Mobile, there was no word of when exactly. Now thanks to the CEO of T-Mobile, we have a more distinct release window.
T-Mobile iPhone 5 release window given
At CES 2013 earlier today, the T-Mobile CEO said that they have brought the iPhone 5 release window from 6-9 months down to 3-4 months. Now before you get excited and think that this gives you a better chance of getting one subsidized, think again.
According to the CEO, they will also be ending subsidies earlier. What this means is that when the iPhone 5 does arrive, you will have to pay the full retail price tag – currently set as $650. So you better start saving up. On the plus side, the T-Mobile plan you would sign up for would be cheaper than those available on rival networks and it would not need a contract term.
The CEO of T-Mobile is so confident that this will work out for the carrier that he estimates the amount of subscribers to increase by around 5% or higher. I guess we will just have to wait & see.
