It is thought that Google could be about to stop supporting the Nexus 5 and fans of the handset have been complaining. Of course owners of the device hoped that they would get the update to Android 7 Nougat.
Now owners have more to worry about with the Nexus 5 as in November the monthly security updates are going to cease. This is going to mean the demise of the handset. As long as Google offers up the security patches the handset remains alive but the moment they stop the device will die off.
While Google may not be offering any more monthly security patch updated for the Nexus 5, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the device is dead and gone altogether. This is thanks to developers coming up with the unofficial CM14 ROM, which owners can flash to their device.
Even so the Nexus 5 is going to be at risk in the future as it isn’t going to be receiving the monthly security updates.
