The Last Of Us Remastered Makes The PS4 Pro Look Bad
The Last of Us Remastered really makes the PS4 Pro look bad compared to the original game on the PS4. We are talking about when the game is playing in 1080p and the game seems to suffer from some visual glitches.
The Last of Us Remastered is from Naughty Dog Productions and the team generally has a reputation as one of the most cutting edge developers. They are also well-known for their optimisation skills and gamers were waiting for the remastered version to come out as they thought it would be a joy to play.
On the PS4 Pro The Last of Us Remastered comes with a resolution of 3200 x 1800 in 60 frames per second and native 4K at 30fps. This is one of the best games in HDR that we tried and if you do have a 4K monitor, then losing around 2 to 5 fps performance in 60fps model isn’t going to be a bad thing to trade. However, you cannot choose enhanced performance.
The frames per second drops on the PS4 Pro but the game happens to render smoothly on the PS4. But if you connect your Pro to the 1080 display you don’t get HDR and the boost of resolution is repurposed thanks to down-sampling, into enhanced anti-aliasing. This means that the trade doesn’t work in your favor. You really shouldn’t have to think about compromises on the PS4 Pro and gamers want the game to run as smoothly as possible.
Software for the PS4 Pro should run at the same frame rate of better resolution and The Last of Us Remastered is one prime example of this as it is worse on the Pro than the base PS4.
The Last of Us Remastered is available on the PS4 Pro and PS4 and the Pro costs $399.
